The primary strength of the Alliance lies in the comprehensive partnership of participants with capabilities covering the full spectrum of activities along the Supply Chain linking all aspects of its research through to industry.The impact of new supply chain systems depends on rapid and comprehensive adoption by industry. The alliance includes a number of high profile participating research institutions with an adoption focus. The adoption capacity is will further be strengthened by the participation of State Governments, with their industry level focus on infrastructure and technology.

The research task is complex and requires assembly of a wide array of skills, expertise, and capabilities. The Alliance has developed effective management of multi-disciplinary research. It stimulates its researchers to embrace their roles in multi-disciplinary teams and integrate their research supported with appropriate governance arrangements for their coordination and supervision.

Researchers and the wider industry have already been influential in the priority setting and planning of the research agenda for the allaince and they will continue to provide input into implementation.

Project Inquiry

ASCI undertakes project-based research, comparative benchmarking, and validation studies involving individual scoping and outcomes.

This type of research will support new method development, provision of technical expertise and access to analytical facilities within defined work programs. The Alliance works closely with Industry to apply for say, ARC Linkage Grants, and related funding options. Industry is encouraged to contact ASCI regarding the options that exist in this regard.

Scholarship Inquiry

ASCI uses some of its sponsorship funding of PhD scholarships. There is consensus that the research environment can be hugely enhanced by making available more high-level PhD candidates. PhD scholarships are not readily available at any university and funding PhD level research through dedicated company sponsorships PhD scholarships will not only support that direction , but also give potential sponsorship a real outcomes for the “investment":
