Memberships

• Foundation Partners

  Foundation Partners are those organisations that underwrite the incorporation of ASCI.
  These organisations are entitled to:

  1. Appoint a member to the ASCI Executive Board with the right to vote
  2. Membership of Research Steering Committee and participation in relevant work group activities
  3. Access to policy and strategic documents with the right to comment
  4. Appoint Directors to govern ASCI
  5. Change the constitution, subject to the rules set out by the ASCI Constitution to do so

  Foundation Partnership is open to both the Research/Academic and Corporate/Industry/Government Institutions and will attract a fee of $75,000 payable as one amount or over three years in equal installments of $25,000 per year.

• Institutional Participation (Universities & Research Institutions)

  Research and Academic Institutions are research providers with research expertise in the Supply Chain, which participate in the research which the Alliance undertakes and address the relevant research questions and industry problems.

  The services of these institutions are necessary for a focussed response to the industry’s research needs.

  As a group, there is Board representation reserved for these Participants. Further, each research/academic participant institution has representation on the ASCI Research Steering Committee.

• ASCI Affiliation (Industry, Government & Professional Bodies)

  This category represents institutions and/or organisations with special expertise and/or knowledge who could contribute to the Alliance’s objectives:

  • Special industry knowledge or links

  • Potential to contribute to the growth of the Alliance’s activities particularly in the Asia/Pacific region

  • Contribution to national profile building

  • Contribution to international profile building

  • Affiliated Participants are not charged any fees

  Affiliated Participants selected to join the Alliance will be expected to bring their expertise and industry networks to the Alliance. These organisations are expected to provide the main link between the Alliance and the particular institution or organisation and it is expected that this will be the preferred means of transferring knowledge to industry.

• Individual & Postgraduate Researchers

  In essence ASCI has institutional participation. Individual researchers will have to belong to a participating institution. If a particular institution is not participating, please submit an inquiry and ASCI will follow this up to facilitate such participation.

  Researchers from ASCI Participating Institutions may sign up on this site, pending approval from the relevant institution.

• Sponsorships

  The aim of sponsorships is to enable potential industry and government sponsors to customise funding support and focus through the provision of elective studies while still maintaining an overall integrated research program.

  Sponsorship details are yet to be finalised, but is currently anticipated to range between $25,000 and $75,000 p.a. depending on turnover/staff number ratio. However, sponsorships will have to include aspects that will provide the potential sponsors with “value for money”. In this regard, a number of sponsorship offerings may include:

  Case Studies

  Depending on the level of sponsorship, participants in the alliance may develop case studies on particular projects with industry partners

  Case Studies will involve individual scoping and costing in close collaboration with industry clients.Partnerships with “data rich” and “data hungry” companies will be sought to provide early deliverables.These case studies will be identified by sponsorship name, but will then be available for management education by the participating institutions.

  Scholarships

  Strong consideration is currently given to using some of the sponsorships funding for PhD scholarships. There is consensus that the research environment can be hugely enhanced by making available more high-level PhD candidates. PhD scholarships are not readily available at any university and funding PhD level research through dedicated company sponsorships PhD scholarships will not only support that direction , but also give potential sponsorship a real outcomes for the “investment":
